welcome to wingham minor soccer
The Wingham Minor Soccer Association (WMSA) is entering it’s 23rd season. For most the season begins in early May and ends in July. WMSA is not part of the town of Wingham’s recreation program, and is run completely by volunteers. We are always looking for enthusiastic people to help with the association, so please let us know if you are interested.
WMSA belongs to the North Huron Soccer Association (NHSA), made up of the towns of Wingham, Blyth, Goderich, Clinton, Lucknow, Bayfield, St. Columban, and Brussels. NHSA is not affiliated with the Ontario Soccer Association, and is a self-regulated volunteer association. The NHSA oversees scheduling, tournaments and regulations for the U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 age divisions. Younger divisions are regulated by their home associations individually.
Vu Pham was a great inspiration for a many young soccer players. He coached his sons with great dedication for a number of years with the Wingham Minor Soccer Organization. Vu always made the time to be at games for his sons, many times in his OPP uniform. He was a vocal leader of the team, but had a strong, quiet manner when coaching players one-on-one. Many times he would be behind the net coaching the goaltender. Vu had the ability to rally the team with just a soft spoken word of encouragement. He would also be there for the players if the outcome wasn't as hoped. We were told that Vu had his coaching application form filled out and was planning to coach once again this year. We will greatly miss Vu and we wish to pass on our condolences to Heather, Tyler, Jordan, and Josh. It did not seem his time yet and he can never be replaced."
